The house is a large, beautiful property with ample parking space and only a 15 minute walk from the town centre. Not too close to the town where parking may have been a problem. The welcome my wife and I got was warm and pleasant and the bar served a good pint of Tenants. The room was comfortable and clean, the shower room was large and well presented. The breakfasts were well cooked with good choice and quantity. One of the best bed and breakfasts/hotels we have stayed at. First time to this hotel based on the very good ratings and we were not disappointed. We'll definitely go back to Huntingdon House Hotel when we go back to Dumfries. Excellent all round.
Water pressure was on the low side, so the electric shower wasn't that powerful, but we managed.

From the second I arrived at the hotel, staff were welcoming and friendly. The hotel directions were clear and accurate and the car parking facilities were first class. The hotel itself was in good decorative order and the fact that it was a family run hotel made it even more user friendly and added that special touch. The owners also provided useful local knowledge and no request was too great for them to follow through. The hotel was comfortable and the breakfast choice was designed to meet all tastes. The fact that orders for breakfast were placed the night before meant that no time was wasted in waiting for preparation. I had a most enjoyable stay and would certainly recommend the hotel to others.

The warm welcome from the hosts set a pleasant tone for the stay. Our room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped. Breakfast was expertly cooked with a variety of delicious options, including homemade cakes that delighted our taste buds. The lack of views from the room and the absence of an expansive bathroom were minor drawbacks.
